Abstract

Chemistry is a central science covering a vast range of topics ranging from consumption to conservation, garden to glass, energyto explosives, & battery to beverages & provides a broader understanding of the world. Chemistry is the basis of industries concerned with almost every aspect of life, including food, fodder, fertilizer, fuel, and fibers. New chemical technologies have the potential to improve our lives massively & we need to reset our relationship with chemistry, promoting thinking dynamics. Learning chemistry is not linear & learning in a focussed way is better than the amount of time spent on intricate details, particularly in these times of cut-throat competition. There is a significant trend towards shifting from learning disciplines linearly to interdisciplinary learning in a non-linear manner, while retaining its unique identity, essence & flavor. The PowerPoint sideshow might lead to a variety of thought & approach, expanding the scope for alternative theories by lateral thinking. Further, a brief idea/concept can catalyzethe transformative learning approach by making meaningful connections, leading to a significant impact in this era of information overload. There is greater diversity in the PowerPoint projects with more interesting points on different themes bringing an innovative approach & an opportunity to explore learning in many different facets. This slideshow contains chemistry practice bits, chemistry concepts in ‘byte’ sized portions & themes beyond chemistry. The advantage of subject areas, extension material, value addition, core points, & structured illustrations leads to the comfortof understanding & enhances the confidence level of learners.This slideshow is designed as an extended learning material to connect chemistry they study in the college with their everyday life, exciting facts & figures, & other interesting materials. The PowerPoint style of presenting the content with an innovative approach can stimulate the learning & development process in the current academic scenario of the higher education institutions & develop divergent thinking skills of learners
